The Gleam Abode editorial team

Three editors, divided by room. We treat the home as an engineering problem: specifications first, brand names second. Every byline on this site belongs to one of us.

Sofia Lund

Editor-in-Chief & Kitchen & Dining Editor

Sofia spent years reviewing kitchen equipment before founding Gleam Abode, and she only trusts numbers she can measure: temperature curves, coating hardness, weave density. Marketing copy does not survive contact with her test notes, which is exactly why she writes ours.

Writes: Kitchen and dining gear, textiles, home decor, and overall editorial direction.

Daniel Hart

Furniture & Bedroom Editor

Daniel has outfitted two homes himself, and he writes like someone who has assembled every particleboard regret at midnight. He cares about installation reality — load ratings, hardware quality, what a warranty actually excludes — more than how anything photographs.

Writes: Mattresses, bed frames, bedding and furniture buying guides.

Maya Ellis

Lighting Editor

Maya came to residential lighting from an architectural lighting design background, and it shows in how she reviews: light first, fixtures second. She reads spec sheets the way some people read novels, and she is direct about the gap between the lumens printed on a box and the lumens that reach your wall.

Writes: Lighting guides and reviews and the Room by Room column.

How we review

Every guide starts with a spec, not a shopping list: we define what “good” means for the category, then compare products against it using manufacturer specifications, independent lab testing we cite by name, and recurring themes across verified owner reviews. The full method, including how we handle updates and corrections, lives on our How We Pick page.
